Forbes.com recently released a thought-provoking article discussing divorce trends in the 21st century. The article, authored by Jeff Landers, highlights three main findings:
(1) Marriage rates, and by extension divorce rates, are decreasing.
(2) Women initiate divorce most of the time.
(3) Divorcing later in life (aka “grey divorce”) is becoming more common.
The article also includes a graphic detailing six different divorce trends, including divorce rates by region of the United States, affects on children, and factors decreasing the likelihood of divorce. The article is well worth the read.
