My goal is to strike an appropriate balance between empathy and advocacy – meeting my clients where they are at, listening and learning from them, and using my expertise in order to provide my clients with a sense of security during the complex and emotionally charged challenges present in many family law cases.

Maya started as an Associate Attorney with Alithis Family Law, LLC in June, 2023. She practices exclusively in the area of family law, including divorce, custody, child support, property division, parenting time, spousal maintenance, and non-martial claims.
Prior to joining Clausen & Hassan, LLC, Maya was an Ireland Justice Fellow with Safe Passage for Children of Minnesota, a child welfare advocacy organization. As the organization’s Staff Attorney, Maya worked on a project analyzing child fatality cases and co-authored a report that provides public policy recommendations to improve our child welfare system in Minnesota.
During her time in law school, Maya was an active member of the Family Law Society, as well as a certified student attorney for an Elder Law and Guardianships Alternatives Clinic. Maya also worked for the Ramsey County Public Defender’s Officer as a law clerk, as well as a legal intern with Violence Free Minnesota, a statewide coalition to end relationship abuse.
In her free time, Maya enjoys spending time outdoors, and loves the four distinct seasons that Minnesota has to offer. She also enjoys live music, trying new food, and likes to unwind at the end of the day with a good book or a puzzle.
